An objective of the present invention is to employ an operation device for more information processes. An operation device is capable of wireless communication with an information processing device. The operation device comprises a communication unit, a display unit, and a program execution unit. The communication unit transmits to an information processing device operation data which is acquired on the basis of an operation upon the operation device, and receives image data from the information processing device which is generated in the information processing device by a process based on the operation data. The display unit displays an image which the image data which is received from the information processing device represents. When a prescribed operation is carried out upon the operation device, the program execution unit executes a prescribed program, and at least displays on the display unit an image from the execution of the program. Additionally, the communication unit transmits to the information processing device data which represents that the prescribed program is being executed.
