PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a computer program for determining material of an object on the basis of its optical characteristics.SOLUTION: A method is operable on a touch screen including on its periphery a plurality of light sources (L, i=1 to N) and sensors (S, j=1 to M). The method comprises the steps of: emitting light from each of the light sources to an object within a boundary of the touch screen; determining a distance from the object to each of the light sources and each of the sensors; detecting presence of the emitted light with each of the sensors; determining, with each of the sensors, reflectance n2 of the object; and determining object material on the basis of the determined reflectance. |
