The sensor system 1 determines the density of the detection object based on a ratio between a first response ratio, which is a ratio between a first reference side response value obtained before bringing a detection sensor part into contact with the sample and a first detection side response value, and a second response ratio, which is a ratio between a second reference side response value obtained after bringing the detection sensor part into contact with the sample and a second detection side response value. Here, the first reference side response value and the second reference side response value are output values output by a reference sensor part after a waiting time has elapsed since the output value of the reference sensor part due to the contact with the substrate has exceeded a response detection threshold value; the first detection side response value and the second detection side response value are output values output by the detection sensor part after a waiting time has elapsed since the output value of the detection sensor part due to the contact with the substrate has exceeded a response detection threshold value.
