<p>On the basis of a photographic image of the vicinity of a driver's seat in a moving body, an operation input device recognizes an operation input force from a user. First, from the photographic image, which is obtained by means of a camera, a detection reference area is determined by using a tangible object near the driver's seat, such as a steering wheel, as a reference. Next, in the detection reference area, an operation object is detected on the basis of a restriction in the appearance of the operation object, said restriction being determined by the relationship between the tangible object and the operation object, which is an object used for operation input such as a finger or hand. Subsequently, the state of the detected operation object is inferred, the operation input force is identified on the basis of the inferred state of the operation object, and an operation signal corresponding to the operation input force is output to a device.</p> |
