PURPOSE: A metal filter manufacturing method for water treatment which is carbon coated after laminate compression is provided to control a size of pores and porosity by laminating and compressing a plurality of filter precursors in which an air gap is formed thereby having a large specific surface area. CONSTITUTION: A metal filter manufacturing method for water treatment which is carbon coated after laminate compression comprises steps of: forming a synthetic polymer solution by forming metal fibers from at least one powder of a metal powder and an alloy powder and then by adding at least one powder of a metal powder and an alloy powder to a solution, in which a synthetic polymer compound is dissolved in a polar solvent(S1), forming a filter precursor by mixing the metal fibers and the synthetic polymer solution and binding the metal fibers with the synthetic polymer solution(S2), forming an air gap in the filter precursor by removing a synthetic polymer solution not used in the binding of the metal fibers in S2(S3), laminating and compressing a plurality of the filter precursors in which the air gap is formed in S3(S4), and coating carbon on a surface of the filter precursor after S4(S5).
