PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket checker having excellent operability and capable of accurately and early inspecting the polarity of a socket, and a voltage measurement method using the socket checker.SOLUTION: A socket checker 9 comprises: a plug inserted into a socket; a substrate 16 to which the plug is connected; an operation switch 25 (a contact electrode member 20 that an operator contacts, and a coil spring 19 that is interlocked according to operation and is electrically connected to the contact electrode member 20 and the substrate 16); a measurement start switch 18 that is attached to the substrate 16 and is covered with the operation switch 25; and a voltage measurement circuit that measures potential difference between the contact electrode member 20 and the socket with the measurement start switch 18 integrated into the substrate 16.
