PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bank note processing unit capable of repeating engagement operation of an engagement mechanism, if the engagement mechanism in a standby state is not engaged properly, to keep a lift table at a predetermined position.SOLUTION: A bank note processing unit includes; an engagement mechanism 100 located between a lift table 71 and a stack arm 77, which gets engaged in a direction to prevent movement of the lift table 71 in a standby state and gets disengaged while the stack arm 77 moves to come in contact with a stack roller 76; a shutter sensor 22 and a carry sensor 91 for detecting that the engagement mechanism 100 is not properly engaged in the standby state; and an engagement control unit 200 which, upon detection of engagement anomaly, repeats the engagement operation of the engagement mechanism 100 by controlling a stack motor which moves the stack arm 77. |
