PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for processing of image information, obtained from image sensors, depending on the characteristics of the image sensors.SOLUTION: A characteristics estimation unit 20 estimates the characteristics of image sensors from image information, obtained from the image sensors, or the information associated therewith. A processing unit 30 processes the image information on the basis of the characteristics estimation results. For example, a high image quality parameter setting unit 31 sets the high image quality parameters depending on the characteristics of image sensors thus estimated. A high image quality processing unit 32 performs high image quality processing based on the high image quality parameters thus set. Image information obtained from the image sensors can thereby be processed depending on the characteristics of image sensors used for image information generation, and since it is not required to develop an image processing apparatus for each type of image sensor, development period can be shortened and development cost can be reduced. |
