PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce variation in dot movement due to landing interference when respective pixels are alternatively recorded using a plurality of nozzle arrays.SOLUTION: An inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head having first and second nozzle arrays for recording the same color. The first and second nozzle arrays have the same recording pitch of the nozzles in a first direction. Respective nozzles of the first nozzle array and respective nozzles of the second nozzle array are redundantly arranged in a straight line in parallel to the second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The inkjet recording apparatus includes: a first area to which the nozzle for recording the odd-numbered pixel from one side in the first direction belongs; and a second area to which a nozzle for recording the even-numbered pixel belongs. Recording is performed by alternatively distributing to the respective nozzles of the recording heads that are disposed in the first area of the first nozzle array, the second area of the first nozzle array, the second area of the second nozzle array, and the first area of the second nozzle, or in the second area of the first nozzle array, the first area of the first nozzle array, the first area of the second nozzle array, and the second area of the second nozzle array in this order from the upstream side along the second direction. |
