PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a polymer that can obtain a polymer in which a polymerization invert ratio is high, and a molecular weight is uniformly controlled.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a polymer is the method of manufacturing the polymer in which a weight-average molecular weight/a number-average molecular weight are at most 1.5, and polymerizes the following (A) and (E) under the presence of the following (B)-(D) in a solvent of at most 65°C. (A) A vinyl monomer that has a hydroxyl group, (B) an organic iodine compound, (C) a radical reaction initiator, (D) a nitrogen compound that generates a radical by pulling out an iodine atom of a carbon iodine bonding, and (E) at least one of a vinyl monomer having a lactone framework (E1) and a vinyl monomer having an aromatic (E2). |
