PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement a clear character input by displaying a string of characters to be input in positions near character input keys.SOLUTION: A character input device includes: a scroll pad 16 as character string selection means allowing a string of a predetermined number (for example, five in correspondence to the number of fingers of a single hand) of characters to be selected from many character strings; a display section 17 for displaying the selected character string; and keys 11-15 near the display section 17 as character selection means allowing a given character to be selected from the selected character string. Characters and symbols are input so as to be displayed on an input display screen or stored. |
