The method involves detecting the following physical parameter from the impact at the end of the flight phase, and the pitch motion of the vehicle about the transverse axis. The movement of the vehicle in vertical axis of the vehicle and the physical parameter are evaluated. The pitch turning rate is detected and the time variation is evaluated. An independent claim is included for control device for a motor car.
