The present invention relates to an automatic component exposure device for a carrier tape feeder and, more specifically, to the automatic component exposure device enabling a cover tape to be automatically separated from a base tape at a determined position during the transport process of the carrier tape comprised of: a base tape on which a component is mounted in a pocket; and at least one cover tape which protects a component. The automatic component exposure device includes: a base plate (11) which is extended along the transport direction of the carrier tape; and a separating unit (12) which is arranged to have a height difference which is different from the partial area of the base plate (11) in order to make a part of the cover tape automatically separated in an area which is arranged to face a partial area of the base plate (11) and, wherein the base plate (11) has at least one part of the extended area where a width become narrow in the extended part.
