PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal joint capable of firmly fixing a shaft in a shaft hole without deforming a whole peripheral wall of a hub and not generating wind noise from a hub outer peripheral surface, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A universal joint 1 has cylindrical hubs 2R, 2L in which a shaft hole 22 in which a shaft J is mounted on both sides of an intermediate member 5, is arranging in a center part, a cutting out groove 30 passing through in an axial direction in a peripheral wall 21 around the shaft hole 22 is formed so as to extend from the shaft hole 22 to an outer diameter direction and be folded back near an outer diameter and such that a terminal end remains in a peripheral wall 21 in the hubs 2, an oscillating piece 3 is constituted by the peripheral wall part surrounded by the cutting out groove 30, the oscillating piece 3 oscillates to the shaft hole 22 side and fastens the shaft J into the shaft hole 22 by the fastening force of a bolt 4 for fastening screwed in a peripheral direction of the hubs 2, the intermediate member 5 is attached to the peripheral wall 21 part other than the oscillating piece 3. |
