PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both a reduction in time from activation to start of an initial operation and power saving in a fixing device and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A temperature rise target temperature Tof the surface of a heating member in a first mode in which a temperature of the surface of the heating member is increased from a first state comprising a part or all of a temperature distribution of the surface of the heating member in a relatively flat state to start of fixation, is set to a target temperature lower than a temperature rise target temperature Tof the surface of the heating member in a second mode in which a temperature of the surface of the heating member is increased from a second state excluding the first state to start of fixation, so as to heat the heating member to increase a temperature of the surface of the heating member. |
