PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective reliable power supply device for a comfortable-ride elevator car without using a mobile cable that supplies power to the elevator car.SOLUTION: An elevator driven by a drive motor 2 includes: an electric generator 9 which converts the motion energy of an elevator car 6 to electric energy; a power supply device 10 comprising contactless power supply devices 11 and 12 which supplies power between the elevator car 6 and a stopping floor and a battery 13 which stores the power from the electric generator 9 and the contactless power supply devices 11 and 12; a charger which charges the battery 13; and an inverter which converts the power of the power supply device 10 to alternate current power. The elevator does not comprise a power supply line from a machine chamber to the elevator car 6 but supplies the power of the electric generator 9, contactless power supply devices 11 and 12, or the battery 13 of the power supply device 10 from the inverter to the loads in the car 6. The electric generator 9 uses a linear motor electric generator. |
