<p>A method and apparatus for compensating is described, in which a tuning network (112) is electrically coupled to an antenna (110) and to a phase shift network (114). Baseband signals travel to and from the phase shift network (114). A controller (108) communicatively linked to the tuning network (112) and to the phase shift network (114) receives (1100) data regarding the state of a communication device (102). The controller (108) changes (1104) the impedance of the tuning network (112) and changes (1104) the phase shift of the phase shift network (114) based on the received data. The received data may include information regarding the channel, band, or sub-band on which a communication device (102) is communicating; information regarding on the application state of the device (102), information regarding the modulator and demodulator state of the device (102), and information regarding the state of the communication device's antenna (110).</p> |
