PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device, an image reading system, and an image reading method for easily acquiring image data that sufficiently reproduces texture and feeling of irregularities from an imaging object having irregularities.SOLUTION: An image reading device includes: an irregularity reading unit that reads irregularities on the surface of an object; an irradiation unit that irradiates the object with light; an irradiation position determination unit that determines an irradiation position for the irradiation unit to irradiate the object with light according to the irregularities on the surface; a light receiving unit that receives reflection light from the object; an image processing unit that generates image data according to the reflection light; and a control unit that controls such that the irradiation unit irradiates the object with light from the irradiation position determined by the irradiation position determination unit, and the light receiving unit receives the reflection light.
