PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pitching machine capable of preventing a passing point of a ball from being disturbed by seasons or the lapse of time, and pitching a ball in which a ball speed, a pitching direction and a rotation speed are accurately controlled, relating to the pitching machine of a kind that a ball is pitched by a rotating roller.SOLUTION: A pitching machine includes a heater for heating an arrangement space of a roller, and a sensor for detecting the temperature of a tire composed of an elastic material on the outer periphery of the roller or the arrangement space, and when the detection temperature of the sensor becomes lower than a set temperature, air inside the arrangement space of the tire and the roller is heated. The heater and the sensor are installed inside the arrangement space of the roller closed leaving a gateway of a ball to a pitching port. |
