PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Herbal compositions derived from Kenyan plants for the treatment of HIV and other infectious diseases, wherein the herbal compositions can include the extracts of up to 14 plants, including the root of Dovyalis abyssinica and Clutia robusta; also to provide methods for extracting alkaloids and other compounds from the plants; also to provide methods of treating a subject having an infectious disease, particularly HIV.SOLUTION: A medicine containing a dried root of Dovyalis abyssinica and a dried root of Clutia robusta is used for the treatment of infectious diseases.
