A wireless communication device is provided with separate processing modules for a transceiver and a near field communication (NFC) device. The NFC processing module is configured to generate outbound NFC data and to process inbound NFC data, while the transceiver processing module is configured to generate outbound transceiver data and to process inbound transceiver data. A shared radio frequency (RF) front end transmits and receives combined radio frequency (RF) signals including both NFC data and transceiver data.
