PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high dynamic synthetic processing which allows creation of a natural image without the sense of discomfort even for a moving subject.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus for synthesizing a plurality of images captured by changing exposure includes: displacement detection means for detecting the amount of displacement among the plurality of images; correction means for correcting the displacement among the images from the amount of displacement detected by the displacement detection means; mobile area detection means for detecting a mobile area from the plurality of images; image synthetic means for synthesizing the plurality of images subjected to displacement correction; and mobile processing means for substituting an area, corresponding to the mobile area of the synthetic image synthesized by the image synthetic means, by an image obtained by adding the plurality of images while weighting.
