PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint metal capable of absorbing energy by its plastic deformation and minimize breakage of a horizontal member and a structural material when not only an excessive load but also an excessive bending moment is applied to a joint part between the horizontal member and the structural material.SOLUTION: A joint metal 1 is used for joining an end face of a horizontal member to a side face of a structural material so as to be a T-shape. The joint metal 1 includes a back plate 11 contacting with a lateral face of a structural material and fixed to the structural material by inserting bolts 41 into bolt holes; and lateral plates 12, 12 inserted into slits 31, 31 worked on the end face of a horizontal member, and fixed to the lateral plates 12, 12 by inserting drift pins 5 through pin holes 12a1 to 12a3.
