The device has a deformation mechanism comprising deformation elements (1) e.g. rectangle prism and connection piece, arranged in two ways relative to each other, so that two different component geometries are reproduced with the deformation mechanism. The deformation elements comprise a connector (3) so that the deformation elements are connected with each other. The deformation elements are arranged at or on a base element and connected with the base element by the connector. The connector is arranged at one of the deformation elements. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a deformation element system for creating a deformation mechanism (2) a method for investigation of a deformation behavior of textile semi-finished material by a device (3) a method for producing a deformation element system.
