PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon-conjugated diene block copolymer using a coupling reaction with improved ion stability.SOLUTION: A method for producing a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon-conjugated diene block copolymer includes: a step (a) of polymerizing a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon monomer in a hydrocarbon solvent using a polymerization initiator of an organic lithium compound to form a first mixed solution including a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon block; and a step (b) of adding a conjugated diene monomer to the first mixed solution of the step (a) to form a conjugated diene block on an end of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon block, thereby forming a second mixed solution including a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon block-conjugated diene block. The method further includes a step (c) of adding a Lewis acid to the first mixed solution before, during or after the polymerization of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon monomer of the step (a). Thus, a method for producing a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon-conjugated diene block copolymer using a coupling reaction with improved ion stability can be provided. |
