PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that achieves prevention of deposition of a carrier and suppression of an amount of a fogging toner while considering deterioration of an image carrier with time, environmental conditions or the like.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes: an image carrier 13; a charging member 14 for charging the image carrier 13; an exposing member 19 for forming an electrostatic latent image on the image carrier 13; a developing member 15 for developing the electrostatic latent image with a two-component developer comprising a carrier and a toner to form a toner image on the image carrier 13; a fogging toner detecting member 20 for detecting a fogging toner that moves from the developing member 15 to the image carrier 13 during a finishing process of image formation; and a control unit for controlling a developing potential Vd to be greater in terms of an absolute value than an image carrier potential Vo in accordance with the detection result of the fogging toner detecting member 20 during the finishing process of image formation. |
