Composite material based on a chitosan matrix comprises: (a) connection of a carrier and fiber material with a chitosan matrix for the production of construction shells, insulation materials and building and construction panels; (b) substitute of commonly used adhesives in oriented strand board and particle board, fiber-optic connections and insulation materials; and (c) a substitute composite material with a plastic-like properties.
