Convention date, April 15, 1932. [Class 53.] A gas exit comprises two concentric tubes g, h, the outer one of which forms a plug which fits an opening in the cell cover. The lower end of the inner tube projects into the accumulator while the upper end projects beyond the outer tube. The latter does not project below the cover. Gases escape through the space between the tubes, while air can enter the cell through the centre tube. Baffles l may be provided on the centre tube which may be closed at the bottom and provided with side openings k. Longitudinal ribs may be provided on the centre tube instead of the baffles l. The cover may be arched upwardly, the plug g being situated at the highest point of the arch and secured by a bayonet catch. |
