[Class 38 (iv).] The secondary battery 23, Figs. 3 and 4, of an electric hand lamp 20 for use on a motor vehicle is maintained in a charged condition by storing the lamp in a casing 10 which is mounted on the vehicle and contains charging plugs 15 connected through a resistance 17, Figs. 1 and 4, to the accumulator of the vehicle, the lamp body being provided with charging sockets 22 which are connected directly to the terminals of the battery of the lamp and adapted automatically to engage with the plugs 15 when the lamp is inserted in the casing. The sockets 22 are preferably mounted in the base of the lamp, in which case the plugs 15 project upwardly from an ebonite strip 13 resiliently mounted on the floor of the casing. |
