PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for filtering a stock solution capable of preventing a filtrate from being stagnated and satisfactorily performing filtration even if the amount of stock solution does not reach the volume in a leaf filter. SOLUTION: The device and method for filtering a stock solution includes a first residual liquid filtration/circulation step of supplying the stock solution to a residual liquid filtration mechanism 14a of the leaf filter 14 from a stock solution tank 12 to filter the residual liquid and recovering the turbid residual liquid that has passed through the leaf filter in a stock solution tank and a second residual liquid filtration/circulation step of supplying the stock solution to the residual liquid filtration mechanism of the leaf filter from a lower section of the leaf filter 14 to filter the residual liquid and recovering the turbid residual liquid that has passed through the leaf filter in the stock solution tank 12, and alternately repeat the first and the second residual liquid filtration/circulation steps.
