PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode foil for an electrolytic capacitor the leakage current of which is reduced by enhancing the capacitance of the anode foil. SOLUTION: In the anode foil for an electrolytic capacitor having a dielectric oxide coating layer 11 formed on the surface of an aluminum foil 10, the dielectric oxide coating layer 11 is an anode foil for an electrolytic capacitor where an aluminum oxide coating 12, a high dielectric constant oxide coating 13 having a dielectric constant higher than that of the aluminum oxide, and an aluminum oxide coating 14 containing a phosphoric acid root are formed sequentially from the surface of the aluminum foil. Consequently, an anode foil for an electrolytic capacitor in which the capacitance is enhanced while reducing the leakage current can be provided. Furthermore, the capacitor characteristics (capacitance, leakage current, ESR) can be enhanced by using the anode foil for an electrolytic capacitor in an aluminum electrolytic capacitor.
