PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce probability of calculating an unrealistic estimate value in an extrapolation region when an estimation polynomial is used to estimate a state quantity or the like. SOLUTION: An estimation device is provided with: a region determination unit 3 for determining whether an input parameter is in an interpolation region or an extrapolation region depending on a preset region determination condition; a high order polynomial estimation computing unit 4 for using a high order estimation polynomial when the input parameter is in the interpolation region to estimate an output parameter from the input parameter; and a low order polynomial estimation computing unit 5 for using a low order estimation polynomial when the input parameter is in the extrapolation region to estimate an output parameter from the input parameter.
