The invention refers to the DNA sequence and the protein encoding for and corresponding to a starch-binding domain derived from the linking modules to a carbohydrate (CBM26) of alpha amylase produced by Lactobacillus amylovorus NRRL B-4540., other embodiment of the invention is the use of a starch-binding domain for the immobilization of recombinant proteins over starch. This domain allows chimeric proteins to be immobilized and/or purified, also immobilizing cells through the domain expression in membrane or cellular wall. Proteins may be anchored to starch during the biosynthesis, different proteins may be used for being fixed to starch pellets, for stabilizing chimeric proteins under adverse conditions such as different pH and presence of proteases, also using DFA for immobilizing therapeutic proteins, antigens and epitopes to the starch pellets, which may act as a vehicle for the administration of drugs and vaccines via mucous. |
