In a vehicle air conditioner for a vehicle cabin interior is split into a plurality of air-conditioned zones, that is capable of independent air conditioning control for individual air-conditioned zones, provided is a solar radiation sensor (43)that measures incident angle of sunlight; a judging unit (100) that judges whether or not the incident angle falls within a predetermined range; a first controller (101) that performs identical air conditioning control for the first air-conditioned zone and the second air-conditioned zone when the incident angle falls within the predetermined range; and a second controller (102) that performs independent air conditioning control individually for the first air-conditioned zone and the second air-conditioned zone when the incident angle falls outside the predetermined range.
