PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel optical processing element that enables multi-wavelength light to be separated in a simple structure. SOLUTION: The optical processing element is structured such that, for a light wavelength λ<SB>i</SB>to be processed, a plurality of minute metallic structures STi having size D<SB>i</SB>with a wavelength λ<SB>i</SB>as a near resonance wavelength are arrayed with a prescribed arrangement with an interval d<SB>i</SB>apart to form a unit array pattern pi, and that a unit processing region Si with the unit array pattern pi arrayed two-dimensionally is formed on an optical substrate 21 in a manner that different unit processing regions Si, Sj are separated from each other.
