A propulsion device for a ship is disclosed. The propulsion device for the ship according to embodiments of the present invention provides thrust for propelling a hull and comprises: front and rear propellers rotating in the opposite direction; a power unit which supplies power for rotating the rear propeller; a main shaft which transfers the power from the power unit to the rear propeller; a hollow shaft which is extended in the longitudinal direction of the main shaft so that the main shaft can pass through, wherein the front propeller is coupled; a rotary unit which is coupled to the hollow shaft to rotate with the hollow shaft and receives electricity; a drive motor having a fixed unit which is fixed to the hull and rotates the hollow shaft in the opposite direction to the main shaft by generating electromagnetic force; and an electricity supply unit which supplies electricity to the drive motor.
