The device (11) has a penetrator (14) comprising a micromechanical movement actuator (31) i.e. rotationally drivable comb-drive actuator, between a force transmission section (19) and a shaft (21). The force transmission section is engaged to a force generation device (28), and the shaft has a penetrator head (22) pointing a material surface of an object (26) to be measured. A radial displacement of the shaft with respect to the force transmission section is controllable or detectable by the actuator. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring mechanical characteristics of materials of an object. |
