PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of effectively restraining rattling of a contact in a cavity. SOLUTION: A protrusion part 33 contacting a tip 7m of a contact 7 under a semi-fitting condition that it has not been fitted with a contact holding part 9 yet, and inserted in a front side gap h2 through the tip 7m of the contact 7 under a fitting condition that it has been already fitted with the contact holding part 9, is formed on a retainer piece 24. Also, the retainer piece 24 includes a first support side wall 32a housed in a deep side gap h1 which is deeper than a pressing piece 21 in an insertion direction F among gaps h formed between the contact 7 and an inner wall 9a of the housing 4 by movement of the pressing piece 21; and a protrusion part 33 housed in the front side gap h2 which is in front of the pressing piece 21 in the insertion direction F.
