Dec. 2, 1932, Nos. 34130/32 and 3557/33. Convention dates, Dec. 4, 1931 and Nov. 8, 1932. [Class 115.] In boat-lowering gear located in the boat itself in which the falls 4 are coiled round a pair of intergeared drams 3, a centrifugal brake 25 is interposed in the reducing-gear located between the winch handle 10 and the drums. The lowering is further controlled by a handoperated friction brake 23, operating on a drum on the first-motion shaft 9. The raising operation is controlled by bringing a ratchet into operation. To facilitate the removal of the falls from the drum at the end of the lowering operation, the ends of the falls are provided with sleeves 16 pressed outward by springs 17 to engage frictionally in a radial slot in the hub 2. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a description of a winch with change-speed gear. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
