PURPOSE: A radar device and a method for detecting a target of the radar device are provided to increase accuracy and reliability of the target information by reducing generation frequency of a false target by extracting distance and relative speed of the target by matching received signals. CONSTITUTION: A transmission part transmits radar signals as a modulation signal whose frequency varies according to time(S710). A receiving part receives the radar signal(S720). An amplitude measurement part measures amplitude of a plurality of radar signals received for one modulation signal(S730). Completion in up-modulation section, down-modulation section and continuous wave modulation section is judged(S740). If all sections are not completed, S710 or S730 step is repeated. If all sections are completed, an amplitude matching part performs matching among received signals on the basis of the measured amplitude(S750).
