<p>According to one embodiment, a display device (110, 112, 114, 210, 212) includes a substrate (10), a thin film transistor (12), a passivation film (13), a hydrogen barrier film (14), a pixel electrode (16), an organic light emitting layer (18), an opposite electrode (20), and a sealing film (22). The thin film transistor (12) is provided on a major surface of the substrate (10). The thin film transistor (12) includes a gate electrode (33), a gate insulating film (34), a semiconductor film (35), a first conducting portion (31), and a second conducting portion (32). The passivation film (13) is provided on the thin film transistor (12). The hydrogen barrier film (14) is provided on the passivation film (13). The pixel electrode (16) is electrically connected to one of the first conducting portion (31) and the second conducting portion (32). The organic light emitting layer (18) is provided on the pixel electrode (16). The opposite electrode (20) is provided on the organic light emitting layer (18).
