The present invention relates to an energy storage device. The energy storage device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a case, a connection unit which is arranged on one side of the case and to or from which one battery pack is attached or detached, and a power converting unit which is arranged on the same side as the connection unit, exchanges heat with the attached battery pack, converts inputted external power into DC power in a charging mode, converts the DC power from the attached battery pack in a discharging mode, and outputs the DC power to the outside. The battery pack includes a fan which is operated for exchanging the heat with the energy storage device. Thereby, the battery pack is safely managed.
