The invention consists of a device for painting the edges of a plurality of notebooks. The device is formed by a hollow central column, a base and a pressing mechanism where this latter element exerts compression over the notebooks. The invention also describes a process for painting the edges of a plurality of notebooks, which comprises placing a central axis along with gripping arms arranged in the lower portion thereof, at the inner portion of the central column and under the base. A plurality of notebooks are subsequently placed over the base bringing the back of the notebook into contact with the central column and stacking the notebooks until forming four piles and reaching the height of the column. Finally, a nut is threaded, to a circular frame, and rotated until the axis is lifted and the arms thereof tightened against the base, and until the bearings supported on the frame exert the required compression over the notebooks. Once the notebooks are pressed, the three edges of e ach notebook in the four piles may be paint. The device and process are useful for obtaining notebooks where all faces thereof have the same color, and prevents ink from running to the inner portion of the sheet of paper. |
