A liquid crystal display device is provided to maintain the chromaticity of a displayed color image by preventing a brightness of a black color from being increased. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(10) includes LCD panels arranged to be connected to gate and data lines. A data driver supplies pixel driving signals to the data lines in response to one-line pixel data. A voltage generator(20) generates a precharge voltage for charging the liquid crystal pixels. A precharging portion(18) charges the LCD pixels through the data lines using the precharge voltage from the voltage generator, during a period when the pixel driving signals from the data driver are not supplied to the data lines. A control switch(SW1) switches on/off the precharge voltage to be supplied from the voltage generator to the precharging portion. A precharge mode controller(22) controls the control switch based on a grayscale value of the one line pixel data to be supplied to the data driver. |
