The present invention relates to a self-tapping bolt comprising: a head part (12) formed as a polygonal shape with the constant thickness; a screw part (14) extended from the head part (12) at the predetermined length; a tapered tapping part (16) which is gradually narrowed downward from the screw part, and which forms threads on the coupling holes of materials (A, B); a chip pocket part (18) which is formed on the outer circumference of the tapered tapping part (16), and which receives chips generated in the coupling holes. According to the present invention, the self-tapping bolt can reduce not only work time but also process costs by integrating a tapping process for forming the threads on the coupling holes of the materials and a bolt coupling process for coupling the materials. Also, the present invention decreases product failure rate due to existing multiple processes by simultaneously performing the tapping process and the bolt assembling process, and reduces process failures due to the chips by discharging or storing the chips generated from the materials by the tapered tapping part after the chips are received in the chip pocket part. |
