<p>The invention provides a machine for flattening or polishing slabs made of stone or stone-shaped materials and a mandrel. The machine comprises a support workbench for the movement of a slab to be processed, at least one processing unit disposed on the workbench, and a device executing the relative movement of the processing unit on the workbench. The processing unit comprises the mandrel which has a first support mechanism rotating around a first axle of the workbench, and a second support mechanism which is supported on the first support mechanism and rotates around a second axle which is in parallel with the first axle with a distance and rotates around a first axle track. A motor driving shaft driving the mandrel is connected to the first support mechanism by means of a first movement coupler to trigger the rotation around the first axle. The motor driving shaft is also connected to the second support mechanism by means of a second movement coupler to trigger the rotation around the second axle. A processing head is supported on the second support mechanism, enabling the processing head to flatten or polish the surface of the slab by means of revolution around the first axle, rotation around the second axle, and translational movement along the surface of the slab.</p> |
