Steel with a high tensile strength comprises (in wt.%) carbon (0.15-0.3); silicon (0.1-0.5); manganese (0.6-1.8); chromium (1-1.8); molybdenum (0.10-0.50); nickel (up to 0.50); niobium (0.030-0.150); titanium (0.020-0.060); aluminum (0.010-0.060); nitrogen (0.009-0.030); phosphorus (less than 0.030); sulfur (less than 0.030); and rest of iron and unavoidable impurities.
