The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for processing cell redirection considering the optimization of femto cell throughput in a mobile communication system environment. According to the present invention, the method for processing the cell redirection considering the optimization of the femto cell throughput in the mobile communication environment in which the femto cell and a macro cell overlap, comprises the steps of: (a) allowing a mobile communication terminal to try access to a femto cell; (b) determining whether a femto access point (AP) of the femto cell to be accessed has restricted a number of terminals which can be accommodated to the maximum; (c) reducing the radio frequency output of the femto AP if the femto access point has restricted the number of terminals; (d) transmitting a cell redirection indication message to the mobile communication terminal trying the access; and (e) returning the radio frequency output of the femto AP to an original state.
