PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decontamination plant and a decontamination method which enable effective decontamination of soil contaminated with radioactive elements.SOLUTION: The decontamination plant for contaminated soil of the present invention is a decontamination plant for decontaminating cesium-137 contaminated soil C1. The decontamination plant comprises a pH adjustment tank 17, a high-speed plunger 21, a cyclone type of classifier 29, and a filter press 47. The pH adjustment tank 17 forms a disperse system D2 in which the contaminated soil C1 is dispersed as a dispersoid in a dispersion medium including water and adjusts the pH of the disperse system D2. The high-speed plunger 21 causes dispersion in the disperse system D2 while applying high shear stress to the disperse system. The cyclone type of classifier 29 classifies slurry D3 into contaminated fine particles C5 with an average particle diameter of 0.5 mm or less and the remaining treated particles. The filter press 47 presses the contaminated fine particles C5 with an average particle diameter of 0.5 mm or less into cake D6. |
