PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a reliable input operation of inputting arbitrary characters and others into a display apparatus while keeping the input content from other persons.SOLUTION: A display system comprises: a display apparatus body 10 having a display section 11; and a remote control 20 as an operating device with a touchpad 21 for operating the display apparatus body 10. A particular area passage determination section 14 of the display apparatus body 10 presets a plurality of predetermined areas on the touchpad 21, and determines a touch operation in the predetermined areas of the touchpad 21. A passage area-character conversion section 13 determines a given input operation made on a specific key of a predetermined software keyboard in accordance with the determination result of the particular area passage determination section 14, and generates character information corresponding to the specific key. |
